IPL 2020: Delhi Capitals (DC) have registered their third win by beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 18 runs. With this, Delhi has now reached the top of the points table with 6 points. While batting first here, Delhi gave Kolkata a huge target of 229 runs, in which KKR could score 210 runs. For KKR, apart from Nitish Rana (58), Eoin Morgan (44) played quick innings but he could not win his team.

Kolkata lost their 6 wickets for 123 runs. Rahul Tripathi and Eoin Morgan were on the field now. Both batsmen scored 77 runs in the next 30 balls to reach KKR's score of 200. But on this score, Eoin Morgan (44), who was playing a brilliant innings, was dismissed. In his 18-ball innings, Morgan scored 1 four and 5 sixes. Rahul Tripathi also supported him at the other end. He scored 36 runs in his 16-ball innings with the help of 3 fours and 3 sixes. However, in the 20th over, he was bowled by Stoinis' ball and KKR's hopes of winning the match were dashed.

The Kolkata Knight Riders team had to face a huge challenge here. He needed to start his opening batsman Sunil Narine today. But Naren failed in his fourth match of the season. Nortje bowled him for the first blow with a personal score of 3 runs. KKR will now have to think about Sunil Narine's performance. Naren has proved to be a flop in all four innings so far. After losing the first wicket.

Nitish Rana came to the crease and played Shubman Gill in a brilliant style. Both batsmen added 59 runs by the end of the Powerplay game. But after the powerplay, Shubman Gill (29) was dismissed by the ball of Amit Mishra. Rishabh Pant caught his easy catch.

KKR had fielded their powerful batsman Andre Russell at number 4 today for the purpose of doing a big blast on this small ground. But Russell was able to score only 13 runs here. He was hunted by Kagiso Rabada. Nitish Rana, who was batting brilliantly after Russell, caught Akshar Patel (Substitute) in an attempt to hit a long shot off Harshal Patel. Rana scored four fours and four sixes in this 35-ball innings. This was KKR's fourth wicket at 117. But on the next ball of Harshal, captain Dinesh Karthik also gave a catch to Shikhar Dhawan and made KKR more difficult.

In the end, Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi made 73 runs in 30 balls to bring KKR back into the match. But both batsmen lost their wickets in an attempt to maintain the required run pace and KKR returned to the match and lost the game by 18 runs.

Earlier, Kolkata captain Dinesh Karthik won the toss here and invited Delhi to bat first. Delhi had set a mammoth 228-run target in front of KKR thanks to the brilliant half-century of captain Shreyas Iyer (88 *) and Prithvi Shaw (66).

apart from these two, wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant (38) and Shikhar Dhawan (26) scored excellent runs. For KKR, only Andre Russell was the lowest bowler in his 4 overs, taking 2 wickets for 29 runs.

The pair of Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan added 56 runs for the first wicket here. After this, Shikhar Varun Chakraborty lost his wicket on the ball, then he was joined by Captain Iyer, who shared a 73-run partnership for the second wicket. Here, Prithvi Shaw was dismissed by Kamlesh Nagerkoti on a personal score of 66. Sav scored 4 fours and 4 sixes in this 41-ball innings.

Captain Iyer also scored an unbeaten 88 off 38 balls, in which he hit 7 fours and 6 sixes. Apart from him, Pant contributed useful runs of 38 runs in 17 balls, which included 5 fours and a six.

IPL 2020 : Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad: Shubman Gill shines in KKR's seven-wicket win over SRH

Young Shubman Gill drove, pulled and cut magisterially in an unbeaten 62-ball 70 as Kolkata Knight Riders overwhelmed Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets in the Indian Premier League on Saturday.

Gill and Eoin Morgan (42 not out in 29 balls) complemented a disciplined bowling effort, helping the Knight Riders open their account with a convincing win.

The 21-year-old opener anchored the chase perfectly as Morgan counterattacked to seal the issue in KKR's favour with two overs to spare, after their opening game debacle.

Opting to bat, Sunrisers Hyderabad never got going after Pat Cummins (1/19) and rookie spinner Varun Chakravarthy (1/25) removed the opening pair of Jonny Bairstow and David Warner respectively, and were restricted to a below-par 142/4.

After an explosive start by KKR, the bowling-heavy SRH did make some inroads with Khaleel Ahmed and T Natarajan dismissing Sunil Narine (0) and Nitish Rana (26 off 13).

Rashid Khan got into the act straightway, trapping KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik for a duck.

But a relaxed and composed Gill was in complete control of his innings and paced it brilliantly on way to his fifth IPL fifty.

Reigning World Cup-winning skipper Morgan played the proper supporting role before joining the party by smacking Bhuvneshwar Kumar for a huge six in the 15th over to tilt the match in favour of KKR.

Earlier, KKR looked more intent and aggressive with their approach, having brought in Narine and Cummins up front with the new ball.

Having drawn flak for bowling short against Mumbai Indians, the IPL's most-expensive overseas buy Cummins smartly altered his length and bowled Jonny Bairstow with an absolute ripper to give KKR the first breakthrough.

In his second-coming, architect-turned-spinner Chakravarthy dismissed a well-set Warner (36 off 30) in a very soft manner for his maiden IPL wicket, giving KKR the massive breakthrough.

The Australian left-hander, who got out cheaply against Royal Challengers Bangalore, looked to create a mark with some clean hits, but a lapse in concentration did him in and he spooned an easy catch to Chakravarthy.

The two wickets meant that SRH couldn't step up the momentum and at the halfway mark, at 61 for 2 , the run-rate was just above six.

Manish Pandey returned to form at No. 3 with a 38-ball 51 and together with Wriddhiman Saha (30 off 31 balls), tried to repair the damage but the duo were dismissed at the death and SRH lacked the final touch to settle for a seemingly below-par total.

In hindsight, sending Saha before Mohammad Nabi seemed like a tactical blunder because the Indian wicketkeeper wasted plenty of deliveries in making 30 off 31.
