New Zealand completed a historic first Test series victory in India with a 113-run win in the second Test that ended the hosts' 12-year unbeaten streak.

The triumph in Pune gives the Black Caps an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series and ends India's remarkable run of 18 consecutive home series wins since Alastair Cook's England clinched a famous 2-1 triumph in December 2012.

After New Zealand were bowled out for 255 on the third morning, India were set 359 to win and maintain their proud unbeaten home record.

Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal's half-century gave them hope but that was soon extinguished by Mitchell Santner, who took 6-104 to finish with 13 wickets in the match.

India were eventually bowled out for 245 in the evening session.

"Every time you take wickets, you get a little more confident," said Santner, who had never taken a Test five-for before this match.

"I felt that. Every time I got a wicket, it got a little better."

The hosts had made a rapid start thanks to Jaiswal's quickfire 77, but, having taken seven wickets in the first innings, Santner began to work his magic again.

Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Jaiswal all fell to the left-arm spinner before Santner ran out Rishabh Pant and he proceeded to claim the key wicket of Virat Kohli as India collapsed to 147-5.

"It is a collective failure," said India captain Rohit. "The team has failed to accept the challenge thrown at us."

There was some resistance from Ravindra Jadeja but the all-rounder was the last man out for 42, leaving New Zealand to celebrate a comprehensive, famous victory.

After becoming the NCA chief, now Laxman will have to shift from his hometown Hyderabad to Bangalore. Laxman is also currently the mentor of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. Apart from this, he has also served as the batting consultant of the Cricket Association of Bengal till the beginning of this year. Laxman will now have to relinquish all those positions to avoid issues of conflict of interest, which brings him double benefits.

In this cricket series, first three match T20 series and then two match test series will be played. For this, a 17-member Indian Test team has been announced. Sourav Ganguly Drops Big News On Rahul Dravid’s Fate As Indian Head Coach

Cricket News: BCCI President Sourav Ganguly recently dropped a major update about the rumours of former Indian captain Rahul Dravid being named as the coming head coach of the Indian cricket team and it clearly adds a sense of vagueness around all the reports that have been published in the last many days. 

 “ There’s no confirmation, I only read it in the newspapers. There's due process. It has beenadvertised.However, then he will,"Ganguly said on the‘Salaam Cricket’ show of Aaj Tak suggesting that he has no idea how or why did the reports of Dravid becoming the coming head coach emerged, If he wants to apply. 

 “ Right now, he's the director of NCA. He came to meet us in Dubai to talk about NCA. How to take it forward. We all believe the NCA has a big role in developing the future of Indian cricket. NCA creates the next generation of Indian cricketers. So, he wanted to discuss that,"Ganguly added.

 Before Ganguly’s disclosure, it was reported that Dravid had said yes to replace Ravi Shastri following the end of Team India’s T20 World Cup 2021 campaign and that his first assignment as the coach would be to take on a traveling New Zealand team on home turf in the second half of November. 

It was also reported that Dravid’s trusted assistant, Paras Mhambrey was also being appointed as the coming bowling coach for the Men in Blue, while Vikram Rathour and R Sridar were to continue as the batting and fielding coaches, respectively. 

 In the second week of October, mere days before the said reports were published, the BCCI had announced that the had tried to convince Dravid into taking the job but he'd politely declined the offer as he wanted to concentrate more on developing the youth of Indian cricket as the head of the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. 

 “ We had a chat with him earlier too on whether he wants to take up the coaching role of the senior side but he did n’t seem that interested. His stand is pretty much the same even now. He asked for some time. Let’s see what happens,"Ganguly said at the show.

World News/Sports News: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly has been admitted to Woodlands Hospital after he complained of chest pain.Following this, doctors conducted angioplasty on him.

Speaking to ANI, sources close to the former India skipper said that Ganguly complained of pain in the chest and might need angioplasty. "Dada (Sourav) complained of chest pain and was rushed to the hospital. He might need to undergo angioplasty. He is out of danger," the source said.

Dr Aftab Khan of Woodlands Hospital told reporters, “Sourav Ganguly has undergone angioplasty. He is stable now. He will be monitored for 24 hours. He is completely conscious. There are two blockages in his heart for which he will be treated. As of now he is stable, we will have a meeting on Monday and then we will decide what needs to be done further, priority is to let him settle down after heart attack. He is risk-free and he is talking as well.”

The BCCI president had on Wednesday visited Eden Gardens and discussed preparations for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Avishek Dalmiya.

Other office-bearers of CAB including secretary Snehashis Ganguly and joint secretary Debabrata Das were also present at the stadium.

Earlier this week, Ganguly had also cleared the air about him joining politics ahead of West Bengal Assembly polls next year. He had stated that he went to meet the state's Governor upon invitation.

"If the Governor wants to meet you, you have to meet him. So let us keep it like that," said Ganguly.

West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday met Ganguly to discuss various issues and agreed to visit Eden Gardens on his invitation.

Sports News/ Cricket News: Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has retired from international cricket, the PCB has confirmed. Amir represented Pakistan in 36 Tests, 61 ODIs and 50 T20Is, and recently played within the inaugural Lanka Premier League for runners-up Galle Gladiators.

"Pakistan Cricket Board chief executive Wasim Khan spoke with Mohammad Amir this afternoon following reports that the fast bowler had announced his retirement from international cricket. The 28-year-old confirmed to the PCB chief executive that he has no desires or intensions of playing international cricket and intrinsically , he shouldn't be considered for future international matches," a PCB statement said. "This is a personal decision of Mohammad Amir, which the PCB respects, and as such, will not make any further comment on this matter at this stage."

The statement is another reminder of the extent to which relations between Amir and the current team management have broken down. It came off the back of an interview he gave to Samaa TV earlier on Thursday, during which Amir claimed he had been "mentally tortured" by the team management, taunted frequently and was being deliberately sidelined by them.

"I am leaving cricket for now because I'm being mentally tortured. i don't think I can bear such torture. I've borne lots of torture from 2010 to 2015, for which I served my time. i've been tortured by being told the PCB invested a lot in me. I'll just say two people invested in me a lot: [former PCB chairman] Najam Sethi and [former Pakistan captain] Shahid Afridi.

"They were the only two. the rest of the team was saying, 'we don't want to play with Amir'. Recently, the atmosphere that's been created means i get taunted all the time by being told i don't want to play for my country. Who doesn't want to play for their country? Every two months, someone says something against me. Sometimes the bowling coach [Waqar Younis] says Amir ditched us, sometimes I'm told my workload is unsatisfactory. Enough is enough."

Discontent had been simmering for a short time before finally coming to a head on Thursday. Amir, who retired from Test cricket last year, had found himself excluded from the PCB's list of central contracts earlier this year, and omitted from Pakistan's 35-man squad to New Zealand last month.

Upon that squad announcement, Amir said on Twitter "only Misbah" could explain why he hadn't been included, before criticising bowling coach Waqar Younis for talking about his workload. That, coupled by Amir's frequent praise of former Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur, at one point saying he would "love to play under Arthur for any side in the world", offered insight into how he viewed his relations with the present coaching staff. That he singled Sethi out for praise in his statement is unlikely to have played too well before of his successor Ehsan Mani or CEO Wasim Khan, further condemning Amir to international exclusion.

The 28-year old remains widely sought after in T20 leagues round the world, which his complete international retirement should allow more time for. Though his specific attacks on this management suggests he would be open o a return should things at the board change, for now Amir appears to possess put to bed a tumultuous international career that seemed to are sabotaged even as it began in 2010, before a promising Second Coming following a five-year ban that ended up truly fizzling out .

IPL 2020 Final: Rohit Sharma's 68 and Trent Boult's 3/30 - including two wickets in his first two overs - helped Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals by five wickets in the final of Indian Premier League 2020. With this win, Mumbai added a fifth IPL title to their kitty, more than any other team in the 13-year history of the league.

Chasing 157 to win, Mumbai got 33 off the first three overs as Quinton de Kock tore into the Delhi bowlers. He was dismissed by Marcus Stoinis but Rohit carried on to hit a match-defining fifty and stitched crucial partnerships with de Kock (20), Suryakumar Yadav (19) and Ishan Kishan (33 not out) to keep Mumbai in control. Earlier, Shreyas Iyer (65 not out) and Rishabh Pant (56) helped Delhi score 156 for 7 after they were 22 for 3 at one stage. Boult got three while Nathan Coulter-Nile got two wickets for Mumbai.

IPL 2020: In the first qualifier of the 13th season in Dubai, Mumbai scored a big score of 200 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs, after which Delhi's team was able to score 143 runs for 8 wickets.

Record four-time champions Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by 57 runs in the first qualifier of IPL-13 and went straight to the final. On Thursday in Dubai, Mumbai scored a big score of 200 for 5 wickets in 20 overs, after which the Delhi team could only manage 143 runs after losing 8 wickets.

Suryakumar Yadav (51) and Ishan Kishan (55 *) scored half-centuries for Mumbai, while opener Quinton de Kock scored 40 and Hardik scored an unbeaten 37. Chasing a target of 201 runs, Delhi all-rounder Marcus Stoynis smashed 65 runs. At the same time, Mumbai's star pacer Jasprit Bumrah took the maximum 4 wickets for just 13 runs.

Delhi will get one more chance

Delhi, led by young batsman Shreyas Iyer, will get another chance to reach the final. Whichever team wins in the Eliminator match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Delhi's second qualifier and the winning team gets a place in the final.

Mumbai set 201 target in front of 

Delhi despite the setbacks from experienced Ravichandran Ashwin, Mumbai Indians scored a strong 200 for 5 with the help of half-centuries from Suryakumar Yadav and Ishaan Kishan. Ashwin took three wickets for 29 runs but meanwhile Quinton de Kock (40 off 25 balls), Suryakumar (51 off 38 balls, six fours, two sixes) and Kishan (55 not out 30 balls, four fours, three sixes) Played useful innings.

Stoinis 'belligerent innings, the half-century put on for Delhi by Marcus Stoinis' 65 runs. If he did not settle at the crease, the difference of Delhi's defeat could have been quite large. Stoynis shared a 71-run partnership for the sixth wicket with Akshar Patel. He completed his third half-century of the current season off 36 balls. He was bowled by Jaspreet Bumrah. Captain Shreyas Iyer (12) of Delhi was caught by Jasprit Bumrah in the hands of Rohit. Iyer hit 3 fours in his 8-ball innings. Delhi's fourth wicket fell on the 5th ball of the fourth over. After this, wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant (3) had expectations that he would play resiliently but in the course of playing a big shot off the ball of Krunal Pandya, he caught Suryakumar, causing Delhi's 5th wicket to fall to a team score of 41.

Hardik's blitz In the death overs, Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 37 off 14 balls with the help of five sixes, which helped Mumbai collect 55 runs in the last three overs. Suryakumar's 100th IPL Match, 11th Fifty

Suryakumar hit Ashwin with two sixes on target but the off-spinner forced De Kock to take a waving catch in the air. Di Cock hit five fours and a six. Nortje sent Suryakumar to the pavilion who completed a half-century with a visible four at midwicket before being caught at the boundary line. Suryakumar scored his fourth half of the season and his 11th half-century in the 100th IPL match.

Kishan completed Fifty on the last ball

Ashwin did not even let Pollard open the account. Kishan changed gears after this. Kishan's six on the deep square leg at Rabada was visible. Krunal also hit an easy catch on the ball of Marcus Stoinis after hitting a six over Nortje. Hardik and Kishan hit sixes in Sam's 18th over. IPL 2020: Pushed to the wall, Sunrisers Hyderabad produced a clinical performance to beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by five wickets and stay alive within the Indian Premier League play-off race on Saturday.

SRH first produced an excellent bowling effort to limit a batting-heavy RCB to a modest 120 for seven then chased down the target in 14.1 overs to zoom to fourth spot in the standings from seventh.

SRH now have 12 points from 13 games and need to win their last league game against table-toppers Mumbai Indians to remain within the hunt.

RCB, who needed a win to seal their play-offs berth, slumped to their third consecutive defeat within the tournament but stayed at second place within the table with 14 points from 13 games.

The 121-run target was always getting to be a enter the park for SRH during a small ground like Sharjah unless RCB inflicted early damage which they did not do.

RCB removed SRH skipper David Warner (8) early but they needed more wickets upfront to be within the contest.

After Warner's dismissal, Wriddhiman Saha and Manish Pandey (26 off 19) shared 50 runs for the second wicket in pace to require control of the chase.

But some brilliant spin bowling from Yuzvendra Chahal within the middle overs and over cautious batting from SRH gave RCB outside hope.

Chahal dismissed Pandey and Saha then Kane Williamson (8) was sent back by Isuru Udana to give RCB a ray of hope albeit the competition was tilted considerably in favour of SRH.

Jason Holder played a 10-ball 26-run cameo towards the top to require SRH home comfortably.

Earlier, SRH strangled RCB by learning wickets at regular intervals after opting to bowl.

Young Devdutt Padikkal (5) and skipper Virat Kohli (7) departed in quick succession, falling to Sandeep Sharma (2/20). Sandeep has now dismissed Kohli for a record seven times in IPL.

AB de Villiers made a run-a-ball 24 before perishing then Josh Philippe (32) again got a start but did not capitalise. He was caught by Manish Pandey off Rashid Khan (1/24) within the next over as RCB slumped to 76 for four in 11.4 overs.

RCB were wiped out by some incisive bowling from SRH bowlers upfront, leading to lack of partnerships, which is significant for any team to post an honest total on the board.

RCB's struggle with the bat are often gauged from the very fact that they hit only nine boundaries and a six in their entire innings despite having the likes of Padikkal, Kohli, De Villers and Chris Morris up their ranks.

After the first blows, Washington Sundar (21) and Gurkeerat Singh (15 not out) tried to resurrect the innings with a 30-run fifth-wicket stand but they never got the momentum.

Towards the end, both Sundar and Morris departed in quick succession to add misery to RCB's woes.

It was a clinical performance from SRH bowlers as RCB batsmen struggled to get going after the early dismissals.

Jason Holder too shone bright with the ball with figures of two for 27 from his four overs.

He too could not do anything special and scored 10 runs and was out on Bolt's ball. Rahul Chahar gave the third blow to Delhi. Shreyas Iyer was dismissed for 25 runs. 

Delhi got the fourth blow in the form of Marcus Stoinis, who scored 2 runs and was caught by Dickock off Jaspreet Bumrah. The fifth success was brought to Mumbai by Bumrah, who lbw Rishabh Pant for a score of 21 runs. Delhi's sixth wicket fell as Harshal Patel, who became a victim of Jasprit Bumrah by scoring 5 runs. As the seventh wicket, Shimron Hetmyer returned to the pavilion, scoring 11 runs.

Delhi Capitals' eighth wicket fell as R Ashwin, who scored 12 runs, caught by Krunal Pandya off Trent Boult. Kagiso Rabada was dismissed as the 9th wicket, who could score 12 runs. Rabada was run out on the last ball of the innings, while Praveen Dubey was unbeaten on 7 runs.

Hardik Pandya rested, Rahane out of playing XI

The Mumbai team has made two changes for this match. While Hardik Pandya has been rested, James Pattinson is also out of the playing eleven for this match. In place of these two, Nathan-Coulter Nile and Jayant Yadav have got a chance in the last eleven. Punjab scored 185 for 4 wickets thanks to a stormy innings by Chris Gayle (99) but the Rajasthan team proved it too dwarf and achieved the target by losing 3 wickets in 17.3 overs.

Punjab team lost 7th in 13 matches and the team retained fourth place in the IPL 2020 points table with 12 points . The Rajasthan team registered the sixth win in as many matches and has also gained 12 points, but in terms of net run rate, it was behind the Royals and reached number 5.

Rajasthan were given a strong start by Ben Stokes and Robin Uthappa and both scored 60 runs in 5.2 overs. Rajasthan's FIFTY was completed in 4.2 overs, when Ben Stokes played Mohammed Shami in the gap between extra cover and mid-off and hit a superb four. Stokes completed his half-century off just 24 balls but was hunted down by Chris Jordan on a personal score of 50. Stokes hit 6 fours and 3 sixes in his innings of 26 balls.

Robin Uthappa (30) missed out on FIFTY as the second wicket and he was caught by Murugan Ashwin at the hands of Nicholas Pooran. Uthappa hit 1 four, 2 sixes off 23 balls. Sanju Samson then missed the 14th of his IPL career and his fourth half-century of the season. Samson was run out on a personal score of 48. He hit 4 fours and 3 sixes in 25 balls.

Captain Steve Smith and Jose Butler, playing in a brisk manner, gave the team victory in 17.3 overs. However, the victory came from Chris Jordan's wide ball. Smith made 31 not out with the help of 5 fours from 20 balls and Butler scored 22 not out off 11 balls with 1 fours, 2 sixes. Both added 41 not out.

Aggressive batsman Chris Gayle missed a century by one run but with the century partnership of him and captain Lokesh Rahul, Kings XI Punjab scored 185 for four against Rajasthan Royals. Gayle took advantage of two lives, scoring 63 runs in 63 balls with eight sixes and six fours. Apart from him, Rahul scored 46 runs. Nicholas Pooran played a useful innings of 22 runs in 10 balls. Joffra Archer and Ben Stokes took two wickets each for the Royals, giving away 26 and 32 runs respectively.

Royals captain Steve Smith decided to bowl first after winning the toss, after which Joffra Archer caught Mandeep Singh (00) in the first over by Ben Stokes. Archer got his team off to a great start but Gayle and Rahul shared an amazing partnership.

The Punjab batsmen maintained the run pace in the middle overs as well. Gayle scored leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal while Rahul hit a six over Tyagi. Smith made frequent bowling changes but did not succeed. Gayle completed a 33-ball half-century with a six over Rahul Tewatia. Gayle, however, waved the ball in the same over but Tewatia failed to catch a difficult catch on his ball. Gayle added another six over Tewatia to take the team's score to 100 in the 13th over. Gayle became the first batsman in the world to hit 1000 sixes in T20 cricket with his seventh six in the next over of Tyagi. Gayle also hit a six over Archer in the final over of the innings but was bowled on the fourth ball.

Captain Rahul contributed 46 runs while Puran contributed 22 runs. Rahul Pavilion returned by catching Teotia in an attempt to play a big shot off Stokes' ball. He hit three fours and two sixes during his 41-ball innings. Puran started his innings with two sixes over Aaron.
