He was dismissed by Marcus Stoinis but Rohit carried on to hit a match-defining fifty and stitched crucial partnerships with de Kock (20), Suryakumar Yadav (19) and Ishan Kishan (33 not out) to keep Mumbai in control. Earlier, Shreyas Iyer (65 not out) and Rishabh Pant (56) helped Delhi score 156 for 7 after they were 22 for 3 at one stage. Boult got three while Nathan Coulter-Nile got two wickets for Mumbai.

After this, wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant (3) had expectations that he would play resiliently but in the course of playing a big shot off the ball of Krunal Pandya, he caught Suryakumar, causing Delhi's 5th wicket to fall to a team score of 41.

Kishan completed Fifty on the last ball

Talking about the match, Delhi scored 162 for 4 wickets on the basis of Shifty Dhawan (69 not out). In response, Mumbai won the match scoring 166 for 5 wickets thanks to Suryakumar Yadav (53) and Man of the Match Quinton de Kock (53).

Coming to bat after winning the toss, Delhi Capitals lost their opener Prithvi Shaw in the very first over, after hitting the second ball of Trent Boult (one wicket for 36 runs) after hitting the next ball on the short cover, Krunal Pandya (26 runs) Two wickets in catch) returned to the pavilion. Ajinkya Rahane (15 runs, three fours), who played the first match for Delhi, was also dismissed early. The score was reduced to 24 for two.

Now Iyer and Dhawan were at the crease. The team scored 46 runs losing two wickets in the powerplay. Both Iyer and Dhawan started to build a good partnership by taking a couple of runs in between, besides comfortably scoring a couple runs. The team's score was 80 for two wickets till 10 overs. Dhawan completed his half-century in 39 balls with four fours and a six after taking a single off Bolt for fours in the 16th over. In this over, 16 runs were scored from three fours. The Delhi team, however, could not score much runs in the last four overs in which they scored 35 runs. Alex Carrie remained unbeaten on 14 at the other end.

Mumbai's team started off chasing average targets and it was a poor start. Captain Rohit Sharma (5) was caught at the boundary line by Kagiso Rabada on the ball of Akshar Patel in the wake of taking a big hit. In this way, Rohit, who played his 150th match for Mumbai, could not do anything special with the bat.

However, Rohit's dismissal did not have much effect on Quinton de Kock. He hit Norte for two sixes in an over after putting Ashwin on six. Quinton de Kock completed the half century, hitting a four on the fourth wicket of the 9th over. This was his second fifty in his last 3 matches. However, Quinton de Kock, seen in the form of vigorous form, was called R. Ashwin did the end of the fight while grabbing Prithvi Sau. Suryakumar Yadav took over after De Kock departed. He completed half century in just 30 balls, batting Dhansu. Birthday Boy Hardik Pandaya (0) was dismissed by Marcus Stoinis, while Ishaan Kishan, who scored a stormy 28 from 15 balls, was followed by Kagiso Rabada. Kishan hit two fours and two sixes. However, these two wickets did not make much difference.

Mumbai needed 7 runs to win in the last over to win and they won the match with two balls to spare. Krunal Pandya gave Marcus Stoinis a winning four. Pollard 11 and Krunal Pandya 12 not out.

Delhi Capitals scored 162 for four against Mumbai Indians. Shikhar Dhawan scored the most unbeaten 69 runs for him. Dhawan returned to form with a 52-ball knock hitting six fours and a six while the in-form captain Iyer smashed a 33-ball 42 that included five fours.

IPL 2020: Shreyas Iyer's Delhi Capitals team in IPL 2020 (IPL 2020) is impressing everyone with their great performance. Delhi Capitals team defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR vs DC) easily by 46 runs in a one-sided match of the tournament today. This is Delhi Capitals' third consecutive win and now they have 10 points with five wins in six matches. With this, the team has reached the first place in the score sheet.  Delhi Capitals dished out a clinical performance to outclass Royal Challengers Bangalore by 59 runs and reclaim the pole position within the Indian Premier League here on Monday.

IPL 2020: Asked to bat first, blistering knocks by Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis (53) and Prithvi Shaw (42) powered Delhi Capitals to 196 for four.

Pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada then led a fine bowling display to finish with excellent figures of 4/24, including picking the massive wicket of Virat Kohli.

With 43 off 39 balls, skipper Kohli, who became became the first Indian batsman and the seventh within the world to surpass 9000 T20 runs, was the highest scorer for his side.

But the chase master could do little as his team was stopped at 137 for nine.

With the win, Delhi reclaimed their position at the top, having lost just one game within the tournament so far.

Stoinis, who was dropped on 30 by Yuzvendra Chahal, made RCB pay for the mistake as he raced to his 53 in only 26 balls, hitting two towering sixes and 6 fours at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Shaw, however, missed what would have been a well-deserved half-century.

Chasing a stiff total, RCB were never in the game after losing the wickets of the in-form opener Devdutt Padikkal (4), Aaron Finch (13) and AB de Villiers (9) within the Powerplay to Delhi spinners Ashwin (1/26) and Axar Patel (2/18) and pacer Anrich Nortje (2/22).

Finch (13) got three reprieves. First, Rabada put down a simple caught and bowled chance when the Australian ODI and T20 skipper was on zero. He was again dropped on six by Dhawan off Nortje.

There was another incident involving Finch as he was caught well outside the crease at the non-striker's end, earning himself a warning from off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. However, the right-handed batsman couldn't capitalise on his chances.

With RCB reeling at 43 for 3 , skipper Kohli was joined in the middle by Moeen Ali (11). The duo added 32-runs before Axar broke the stand by getting rid of the england all-rounder.

Earlier, Shaw provided a blazing start, hitting three fours off pacer Isuru Udana within the game's very first over. His innings was laced with five boundaries and two maximums.

The opening duo of Shikhar Dhawan (32 off 28-balls) and Shaw put up a 68-run stand and looked to go the distance before the RCB bowlers made a splendid comeback.

Mohammed Siraj provided the first breakthrough for his team by removing the dangerous looking Shaw.

After Udana accounted for Dhawan, young Devdutt Padikkal pulled off a superb catch at the boundary to dismiss DC's in-form skipper Shreyas Iyer (11).

Stoinis and Rishabh Pant (37) immediately got into the recovery act. The duo stitched an 89-run partnership. Shimron Hetmyer also played a short cameo, the Guyanese hitting a six in the last over.

Siraj (2/34 in 4 overs) was the most impressive bowler for RCB as he picked the key wickets off Shaw and Pant.

After an expensive first over, Chahal pulled things back but couldn't provide a breakthrough for his team.

Playing in place of Adam Zampa, Moeen Ali (1/21) and Udana (1/40) claimed a wicket each, while Washington Sundar (0/20 in four overs) was the most economical.

 Delhi Capitals (DC) have registered their third win by beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 18 runs. Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi made 73 runs in 30 balls to bring KKR back into the match. But KKR lost this game as soon as both batsmen were out.

IPL 2020: Delhi Capitals (DC) have registered their third win by beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 18 runs. With this, Delhi has now reached the top of the points table with 6 points. While batting first here, Delhi gave Kolkata a huge target of 229 runs, in which KKR could score 210 runs. For KKR, apart from Nitish Rana (58), Eoin Morgan (44) played quick innings but he could not win his team.

Kolkata lost their 6 wickets for 123 runs. Rahul Tripathi and Eoin Morgan were on the field now. Both batsmen scored 77 runs in the next 30 balls to reach KKR's score of 200. But on this score, Eoin Morgan (44), who was playing a brilliant innings, was dismissed. In his 18-ball innings, Morgan scored 1 four and 5 sixes. Rahul Tripathi also supported him at the other end. He scored 36 runs in his 16-ball innings with the help of 3 fours and 3 sixes. However, in the 20th over, he was bowled by Stoinis' ball and KKR's hopes of winning the match were dashed.

The Kolkata Knight Riders team had to face a huge challenge here. He needed to start his opening batsman Sunil Narine today. But Naren failed in his fourth match of the season. Nortje bowled him for the first blow with a personal score of 3 runs. KKR will now have to think about Sunil Narine's performance. Naren has proved to be a flop in all four innings so far. After losing the first wicket.

Nitish Rana came to the crease and played Shubman Gill in a brilliant style. Both batsmen added 59 runs by the end of the Powerplay game. But after the powerplay, Shubman Gill (29) was dismissed by the ball of Amit Mishra. Rishabh Pant caught his easy catch.

KKR had fielded their powerful batsman Andre Russell at number 4 today for the purpose of doing a big blast on this small ground. But Russell was able to score only 13 runs here. He was hunted by Kagiso Rabada. Nitish Rana, who was batting brilliantly after Russell, caught Akshar Patel (Substitute) in an attempt to hit a long shot off Harshal Patel. Rana scored four fours and four sixes in this 35-ball innings. This was KKR's fourth wicket at 117. But on the next ball of Harshal, captain Dinesh Karthik also gave a catch to Shikhar Dhawan and made KKR more difficult.

In the end, Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi made 73 runs in 30 balls to bring KKR back into the match. But both batsmen lost their wickets in an attempt to maintain the required run pace and KKR returned to the match and lost the game by 18 runs.

Earlier, Kolkata captain Dinesh Karthik won the toss here and invited Delhi to bat first. Delhi had set a mammoth 228-run target in front of KKR thanks to the brilliant half-century of captain Shreyas Iyer (88 *) and Prithvi Shaw (66).

apart from these two, wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant (38) and Shikhar Dhawan (26) scored excellent runs. For KKR, only Andre Russell was the lowest bowler in his 4 overs, taking 2 wickets for 29 runs.

The pair of Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan added 56 runs for the first wicket here. After this, Shikhar Varun Chakraborty lost his wicket on the ball, then he was joined by Captain Iyer, who shared a 73-run partnership for the second wicket. Here, Prithvi Shaw was dismissed by Kamlesh Nagerkoti on a personal score of 66. Sav scored 4 fours and 4 sixes in this 41-ball innings.

 Rashid Khan's triple strike made all the difference for Sunrisers Hyderabad as his team registered its first win of the IPL 2020 campaign against Delhi Capitals.

IPL 2020: Rashid Khan mesmerised along with his spin while David Warner’s captaincy was superb. A slow Abu Dhabi pitch notwithstanding, Sunrisers Hyderabad were defending almost a par total. they had little margin for error, especially after two losses in their first two games. The Rashid-Warner combo helped Sunrisers secure their first win during this IPL. Their victory margin, 15 runs, though, doesn’t tell the entire story.

Sunrisers’ efforts were even more laudable for the very fact that they bowled second and had to counter the dew. From the experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar to young Abhishek Sharma, everybody stood up to be counted. But Rashid was the x-factor, while his captain was the mastermind.

Rashid came into the attack in the eighth over. Capitals had a slow start all right, but with Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer at the crease and massive hitters to follow, a steep asking rate was still not a factor. Sunrisers needed wickets. The leg-spinner accounted for Iyer with a tossed-up delivery that he held back a little. The Capitals skipper went for a lofted drive over cover but was beaten in the air. Also, the bat turned in his hand. Sunrisers had the wicket they were trying to find .

Dhawan was counting on the sweep shot to counter the spinners. Rashid removed him with a wrong ’un in his third over, as the batsman was declared out on referral. After three overs, Rashid’s figures read: 3-0-10-2.

The leggie returned to bowl his final over at the death. Rishabh Pant and Marcus Stoinis were batting and also the equation – 49 runs off 24 balls – was still pretty gettable. Pant went for a premeditated sweep, but Rashid had bowled the delivery a tad slower. The left-hander was caught at deep-square by Priyam Garg.

Rashid had only one wicket in the first two matches. On Tuesday, he returned with 3/14 in four overs. Still early days in this IPL, but Sunrisers needed to get their campaign underway.

And his brilliance wasn't restricted to only picking game-turning wickets. Rashid was the reason why Warner could continue with left-arm spinner Sharma against Capitals’ left-handed batsmen. With wickets falling at one end, Capitals batsmen didn’t have the leeway to focus on the youngster.

Warner is the heart of this Sunrisers team. he's yet to get a big score in this tournament but his 33-ball 45 ensured that his team had a decent start after being sent in. When Sunrisers fielded, Warner’s plan choked the opponents. The way he held back Rashid’s final over was excellent. He had a clear plan for his bowlers – attempt to take sixes out of the equation, bowl full and force the batsmen to hit towards the long boundary.

Warner directed his bowlers to focus on the block hole. Left-arm seamer T Natarajan was the best among the Sunrisers bowlers with regards to executing yorkers. Kumar gave the first breakthrough by dismissing Prithvi Shaw within the first over then returned to take the wicket of Shimron Hetmyer. Sunrisers bowlers were bowling to a clear plan, laid out by their skipper. The team’s batting, too, was professional.

Jonny Bairstow scored a half-century. Kane Williamson played a stunning hand, coming in from the cold and a quadriceps injury. Sunrisers had laboured to 38 for no loss at the end of the Powerplay. Only two fours and a six had been hit in the first six overs, both by Warner.

The skipper got out after getting a start and the Sunrisers batting wasn’t finding the desired tempo. Bairstow, too, wasn’t timing the ball well. He fell prey to a mistimed pull off Kagiso Rabada. But Sunrisers didn’t panic.

Even Abdul Samad, who made his IPL debut, swung fearlessly at the death. He connected one pretty well for a six but missed a couple of also . But the young man from Jammu & Kashmir didn’t look struggling . once again, credit to Warner for allowing a debutant to be fearless.

As for Capitals, they're an evolving team. They came into this game after back-to-back wins. But on Tuesday, Sunrisers outplayed them in all three departments. Iyer elected to field because of the dew factor in the second half. He probably misread the pitch. the decision to give Axar Patel only two overs didn’t augur well either. Iyer’s captaincy remains a work ongoing . Warner’s captaincy masterclass must have given him plenty to learn.

Delhi Capitals beat Chennai Super Kings by 44 runs to register their second consecutive win of IPL 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday. Chasing 176 to win, Chennai Super Kings got off to a poor start as they lost both their openers Shane Watson and Murali Vjay inside the powerplay. Watson got out to Axar Patel while Vijay was removed by Anrich Nortje. Ruturaj Gaikwad who came into bat at No. 4 did not impress as he got run out after scoring just five runs. After losing two quick wickets, Faf du Plessis and Kedar Jadhav stitched a good partnership to stay CSK hopes alive within the game. Anrich Nortje dismissed Jadhav to hand his side an important breakthrough. MS Dhoni came in to bat but the damage was already done. Nortje and Rabada bowled brilliantly towards the end to seal the massive for their side. Earlier, Prithvi Shaw (64 off 43) scored his 5th IPL half-century as Delhi Capitals posted 175/3 against CSK. Shaw got support from his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan (35 runs off 27) who played with more caution up front but more than made up for it once the field restriction were lifted. The duo added 36 runs within the first six overs without any loss and capitalised on the beginning after the powerplay, taking aggressive approach against the CSK spinners. Both the players found boundaries at will and looked they're going to take the game faraway from them. However that wasn't to be as Piyush Chawla paid off his captain's faith on him by removing both the openers in quick succession to stop the run flow.

Jordan was out in the last ball. The match ended in a super over.

Puran and Rahul of Punjab batted first in the super over. But Punjab lost two wickets for just two runs in the super over. It was not clear why Mayank didn't play in the super over. Delhi picked up three runs in the super over with a smile.
