World News/ US Elections 2020: When Joe Biden was declared the next President of America after an important win in battleground Pennsylvania, his family wrapped him during a group hug.

That moment of pure joy and family celebration was tweeted by the President-Elect's oldest grandchild Naomi Biden.

Joe Biden's victory in one among the most polarized elections in America came after the US media showed him winning Pennsylvania and gaining over 270 electoral college votes needed to secure the presidency.

In Naomi's photo, Joe Biden smiles at the camera as members of his family embrace him.

Naomi is the 27-year-old daughter of Joe Biden's son Hunter and his first wife, Kathleen.

She is named after Hunter Biden's sister Naomi Christina, who was killed in a car crash together with her mother in 1971.

According to the US media, Naomi is the only Biden grandchild who has a public Instagram account.

Her Twitter bio describes her as "sister, daughter, granddaughter..."

Biden, 77, are going to be the oldest president-elect in US history and therefore the first to oust a sitting commander-in-chief after one term since Bill Clinton defeated George H.W. Bush in 1992.

Biden's running mate, California Senator Kamala Harris, is that the first Black and Indian-American woman to serve as vice president.

World News/ US Elections 2020: Democratic candidate Joe Biden moved closer to winning the White House on Friday as he expanded his lead over President Donald Trump in battleground states, yet television networks and news outlets have stayed away from declaring him the victor as officials continued to count votes in a few states where race is exceptionally close.

The Decision Desk HQ has become the first outlet to call the election in favour of Joe Biden, naming him the 46th President of the United States.

"Decision Desk HQ projects that @JoeBiden has won Pennsylvania and its 20 electoral college votes for a total of 273. Joe Biden has been elected the 46th President of the United States of America. Race called at 11-06 08:50 AM EST" said the tweet.

Decision Desk HQ made the call on Twitter after a batch of ballots came in from Philadelphia that put Biden in the lead by 5,500 votes in Pennsylvania.

With more than 100,000 ballots still left to be counted in the state, and with those ballots tilting very heavily toward Biden, there is no realistic path for Donald Trump to win the state. And yet, all the networks have hesitated to say unequivocally that Joe Biden will be the next president.

However, the Decision Desk HQ has not called either Georgia or Arizona — two other states where Biden leads. Decision Desk HQ was launched by Brandon Finnigan in 2014 and he is reported to have conservative leanings.

Other media outlets like Associated Press and Edison Research are also yet to call out the elections.

Here is how different desks are projecting the numbers:

The New York Times projection

The New York Times is taking into account a number of factors before declaring a winner, including race calls made by The Associated Press and Edison Research.

According to the NYT, Joe Biden stood on the cusp of the presidency on Friday, seizing leads over President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania and Georgia and building on his lead in Nevada as he drew ever closer to securing the 270 electoral votes needed to lay claim to the White House.

According to the NYT tracker, Biden had a lead of 253 while Trump was at 214.

The NYT said that in Pennsylvania, the remaining mail ballots are expected to favor Democrats while in Georgia, A small number of absentee, provisional and overseas military ballots remain uncounted.

According to the projections from AP, Biden has a lead of 264 electoral votes while Trump is at 214.

In Pennsylvania, Biden has a lead of 49.64% votes while Trump is at 49.21%.

World News: US President Donald Trump claimed early Wednesday that he had won the US election and, accusing rival Joe Biden's Democrats of "fraud", declared that he would move to the Supreme Court to dispute the counting of votes. "We were just about to win, in fact, we have already won," Trump said in an extraordinary speech from the White House at 2.30 am.

The Biden camp called Trump's bid to prevent vote counting "outrageous and unprecedented". The Democrat nominee's legal teams are "ready to deploy" if Trump tries to halt vote count, said his campaign.

The President said the Republicans were about to celebrate a "beautiful" victory when "suddenly something happened".

"We were winning in many other states and we were just about to declare it and then suddenly this fraud happened there. A fraud on the American people. and we will not let this happen," said President Trump, asserting that he would move to court and "we want all voting to stop." He appeared to mean stopping the counting of mail-in ballots, which may be legally accepted by state election boards after Tuesday's election, provided they were sent in time.

"So, we are going to go to the US Supreme Court and ensure that suddenly new ballots are not mysteriously found at 4 am and added to their tally. Quite frankly this is a shame to America and to the millions of Americans," he said, speaking from the East Room of the White House with vice president Mike Pence and First Lady Melania Trump by his side.

"We will not let them get away with this. The results have been phenomenal... we are surely going to win. We are far ahead in the states where numbers are still coming in. they will never ever catch up with us," he said.

He added that the Republicans were winning most states where counting was on and that too would be a large margin. "We don't even need all of them, but we are still winning."

Election results from some battleground states, including Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan and Georgia, are still not clear and projections from major networks show Trump, 74, still short of the 270 electoral votes need to win re-election. Trump won the key states of Florida, Ohio and Texas, erasing Biden's hopes for a decisive early victory. Biden won Arizona, Virginia and New Hampshire among others.

Biden, 77, was eyeing the so-called "blue wall" states of Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania that sent Trump to the White House in 2016 for possible breakthroughs.

Earlier, the Democratic presidential nominee asserted that he's on track to win the election, warning supporters that it might take time to complete counting the votes. "Keep the faith guys. We are going to win this (election)," Biden told a crowd in his hometown of Delaware.
