Video-conferencing app Google Meet has announced that the free version of the app will only let users host meetings for hour and less than that. However, this new rule would only be applicable from September 30.

Along with the cap on meetings, Google also will limit access to a number of the advanced G-Suite features like allowing over 250 participants, live streaming, and saving meeting recordings to Google Drive, The Verge report claims.

“We don’t have anything to communicate regarding changes to the promo and advanced features expiring. If this changes, we’ll be sure to let you know.” Google told The Verge.

However, the users who don't want to upgrade to the paid version can continue using the free version albeit with a limit on the meetings. it might not be hard to conclude a meeting in hour if the user isn't ready to buy more meetings.

Google Meet and other video conferencing platforms like Zoom are on high demand during the coronavirus pandemic. Google Meet and Zoom have crossed the 100 million mark in terms of daily participants.

Earlier, Google had launched a new feature in its Meet app where users can see up to 49 people at once. The 49 people view are often enabled in Tiled and Auto layouts. This feature is, however, available on the web.

IPL 2020: DC vs SRH: Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Delhi Capitals by 15 runs

Rashid Khan's triple strike made all the difference for Sunrisers Hyderabad as his team registered its first win of the IPL 2020 campaign against Delhi Capitals.

IPL 2020,Indian Premier League,DC vs SRH,delhi capitals,Sunrisers Hyderabad,Rashid Khan,David Warner,Shikhar Dhawan,Shreyas Iyer,

IPL 2020: Rashid Khan mesmerised along with his spin while David Warner’s captaincy was superb. A slow Abu Dhabi pitch notwithstanding, Sunrisers Hyderabad were defending almost a par total. they had little margin for error, especially after two losses in their first two games. The Rashid-Warner combo helped Sunrisers secure their first win during this IPL. Their victory margin, 15 runs, though, doesn’t tell the entire story.

Sunrisers’ efforts were even more laudable for the very fact that they bowled second and had to counter the dew. From the experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar to young Abhishek Sharma, everybody stood up to be counted. But Rashid was the x-factor, while his captain was the mastermind.

Rashid came into the attack in the eighth over. Capitals had a slow start all right, but with Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer at the crease and massive hitters to follow, a steep asking rate was still not a factor. Sunrisers needed wickets. The leg-spinner accounted for Iyer with a tossed-up delivery that he held back a little. The Capitals skipper went for a lofted drive over cover but was beaten in the air. Also, the bat turned in his hand. Sunrisers had the wicket they were trying to find .

Dhawan was counting on the sweep shot to counter the spinners. Rashid removed him with a wrong ’un in his third over, as the batsman was declared out on referral. After three overs, Rashid’s figures read: 3-0-10-2.

The leggie returned to bowl his final over at the death. Rishabh Pant and Marcus Stoinis were batting and also the equation – 49 runs off 24 balls – was still pretty gettable. Pant went for a premeditated sweep, but Rashid had bowled the delivery a tad slower. The left-hander was caught at deep-square by Priyam Garg.

Rashid had only one wicket in the first two matches. On Tuesday, he returned with 3/14 in four overs. Still early days in this IPL, but Sunrisers needed to get their campaign underway.

And his brilliance wasn't restricted to only picking game-turning wickets. Rashid was the reason why Warner could continue with left-arm spinner Sharma against Capitals’ left-handed batsmen. With wickets falling at one end, Capitals batsmen didn’t have the leeway to focus on the youngster.

Warner is the heart of this Sunrisers team. he's yet to get a big score in this tournament but his 33-ball 45 ensured that his team had a decent start after being sent in. When Sunrisers fielded, Warner’s plan choked the opponents. The way he held back Rashid’s final over was excellent. He had a clear plan for his bowlers – attempt to take sixes out of the equation, bowl full and force the batsmen to hit towards the long boundary.

Warner directed his bowlers to focus on the block hole. Left-arm seamer T Natarajan was the best among the Sunrisers bowlers with regards to executing yorkers. Kumar gave the first breakthrough by dismissing Prithvi Shaw within the first over then returned to take the wicket of Shimron Hetmyer. Sunrisers bowlers were bowling to a clear plan, laid out by their skipper. The team’s batting, too, was professional.

Jonny Bairstow scored a half-century. Kane Williamson played a stunning hand, coming in from the cold and a quadriceps injury. Sunrisers had laboured to 38 for no loss at the end of the Powerplay. Only two fours and a six had been hit in the first six overs, both by Warner.

The skipper got out after getting a start and the Sunrisers batting wasn’t finding the desired tempo. Bairstow, too, wasn’t timing the ball well. He fell prey to a mistimed pull off Kagiso Rabada. But Sunrisers didn’t panic.

Even Abdul Samad, who made his IPL debut, swung fearlessly at the death. He connected one pretty well for a six but missed a couple of also . But the young man from Jammu & Kashmir didn’t look struggling . once again, credit to Warner for allowing a debutant to be fearless.

As for Capitals, they're an evolving team. They came into this game after back-to-back wins. But on Tuesday, Sunrisers outplayed them in all three departments. Iyer elected to field because of the dew factor in the second half. He probably misread the pitch. the decision to give Axar Patel only two overs didn’t augur well either. Iyer’s captaincy remains a work ongoing . Warner’s captaincy masterclass must have given him plenty to learn.

World News: The governor of Texas has issued a disaster declaration after the death of six-year-old boy infected with a brain-eating amoeba that was later found in his community's water supply.

The child died on September 8 following an infection caused by the amoeba Naegleria fowleri, a microscopic organism that breeds within the warm, water of lakes and rivers and of poorly maintained swimming pools, US media reports said.

The amoeba enters the body through the nasal membranes and penetrates to the brain, causing powerful migraine, hyperthermia, stiff neck and vomiting, then dizziness, extreme fatigue, confusion and hallucinations.

Testing revealed traces of the amoeba within the tap of the garden hose at the boy's house, a spokesman for the town of Lake Jackson said, quoted by local media.

Traces were also found in a fountain within the town centre and in a fire hydrant in a town only one hour away from the major city of Houston, said Modesto Mundo, a city official.

Grandparents of Josiah McIntyre, the deceased child, told the Houston Chronicle that he might have been exposed to contaminated water while he was playing in a splash park downtown, shortly before he fell ill.

The splash park has since been closed and a number of other towns in Brazoria county, where Lake Jackson is located, advised residents to avoid using tap water for drinking, bathing or cooking.

That advice has since been lifted but authorities are urging residents to boil water before using it.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued a disaster declaration on Sunday for Brazoria County, which includes Lake Jackson

The declaration allows authorities to use extra state resources due to an emergency.

Between 1983 and 2010, Texan health authorities have attributed 28 deaths to the amoeba Naegleria fowleri.

How to disinfect N95 masks?Researchers find a new technique!

Using a combination of moderate heat and high relative humidity, researchers were able to disinfect N95 mask materials without hampering their ability to filter viruses, including Covid-19. "The ability to decontaminate several of these masks while doctors are having a coffee break will lessen the chance that masks contaminated with COVID viruses would expose other patients," said study author Steven Chu from the Stanford University in the US.

According to the study, published within the journal ACS Nano, facing a shortage of the masks early this year, researchers considered variety of the way to disinfect them for reuse, including ultraviolet , hydrogen peroxide vapours, autoclaves and chemical disinfectants. the matter is that a lot of of those methods degrade the N95 masks' filtering abilities so that at the most they could be reused a few times. In the new study, the research team focused their attention on a combination of heat and humidity to try to decontaminate masks.

The team first mixed up batches of SARS-CoV-2 virus in liquids designed to mimic the fluids which may spray out of our mouths once we cough, sneeze, sing or just breathe. They next sprayed droplets of the brew on a piece of melt-blown fabric, a fabric utilized in most N95 masks, and let it dry. Finally, they heated their samples at temperatures ranging from 25 to 95 degrees Celsius for up to half-hour with relative humidity up to 100 per cent.

Higher humidity and heat substantially reduced the quantity of virus the team could detect on the mask, although that they had to take care not to go too hot, which additional tests revealed could lower the material's ability to filter virus-carrying droplets. The sweet spot appeared to be 85 degrees Celsius with 100 per cent relative humidity - the team could find no trace of SARS-CoV-2 after cooking the masks under those conditions.

Additional results indicate masks can be decontaminated and reused upwards of 20 times and that the method works on at least two other viruses. Researchers have known for a long time that heat and humidity are good ways to inactivate viruses - there hadn't been an urgent need for a detailed quantitative analysis of something like mask decontamination so far . "The new data provide some quantitative guidance for the future," Chu noted.

World News:Fighting erupts between Armenia, Azerbaijan; Killed 16

Armenia also claimed that two Azerbaijani helicopters were shot down and three Azerbaijani tanks were hit by artillery, but Azerbaijan’s defense ministry rejected that claim.

World News: Fighting erupted anew Sunday between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces over the disputed separatist region of Nagorno-Karabakh and a top territorial official said 16 people were killed and over 100 wounded, while Azerbaijan’s president said his military has suffered losses.

Armenia also claimed that two Azerbaijani helicopters were shot down and three Azerbaijani tanks were hit by artillery, but Azerbaijan’s defense ministry rejected that claim.

Heavy fighting broke out in the morning within the region that lies within Azerbaijan but has been under the control of ethnic Armenian forces backed by Armenia since 1994 at the end of a separatist war.It had been not immediately clear what sparked the fighting, the heaviest since clashes in July killed 16 people from both sides.

Nagorno-Karabakh authorities reported that shelling hit the region’s capital of Stepanakert and also the towns of Martakert and Martuni. Armenian Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan also said Azerbaijani shelling hit within Armenian territory near the town of Vardenis.

Artur Sarkisian, deputy head of the Nagorno-Karabakh army, said that 16 people were killed and over 100 wounded. It wasn’t immediately clear if the figure included both soldiers and civilians. Earlier, the Armenian human rights ombudsman said a lady and child had been killed in the shelling.

Another Armenian Defense Ministry spokeswoman, Shushan Stepanyan, said “the Armenian side” shot down two helicopters and hit three tanks.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev ordered martial law be imposed in some regions of the country and called for a curfew in major cities.

In a televised address to the nation, Aliyev said that “there are losses among the Azerbaijani forces and the civilian population as a result of the Armenian bombardment,” but didn’t give further details. He also claimed that “many units of the enemy’s military equipment have been destroyed”.

Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov “is conducting intensive contacts so as to induce the parties to cease fire and start negotiations to stabilize the situation,” Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, chairman of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, called on the sides to stop fighting. The long-unsuccessful negotiations for resolving the territory’s status has been conducted under OSCE auspices.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian on Sunday said the country could reexamine whether to recognise Nagorno-Karabakh as independent. Such a move would likely obstruct further negotiations.

The news was harshly received in Turkey, a close ally of Azerbaijan.

Turkey’s ruling party spokesman Omer Celik tweeted: “We vehemently condemn Armenia’s attack on Azerbaijan. Armenia has once again committed a provocation, ignoring law.” He promised Turkey would stand by Azerbaijan and said, “Armenia is playing with fire and endangering regional peace.” Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin also condemned Armenia.

“Armenia has violated the cease-fire by attacking civilian settlements … the international community must immediately say stop to this dangerous provocation,” Kalin tweeted.

Mostly mountainous Nagorno-Karabakh –– a neighborhood around 4,400 square kilometers (1,700 square miles) or about the size of the U.S. state of Delaware –– lies 50 kilometers (30 miles) from the Armenian border. Local soldiers backed by Armenia also occupy some Azerbaijani territory outside the region.

At the Vatican, Pope Francis said Sunday that he was praying for peace between the 2 countries, urging them to them to “accomplish concrete deeds of goodwill and fraternity” to reach a peaceful solution through dialogue.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) chased down 224 for victory against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), pulling off the highest successful run chase within the tournament’s history.

KXIP scored 223/2 in 20 overs, with their openers KL Rahul (69) and Mayank Agarwal (106) having put on a record-breaking opening partnership. They brought up the first century opening stand of the season within the 9th over. They crossed the record for KXIP’s highest ever opening stand — 136 by Adam Gilchrist and Paul Valthaty against Deccan Chargers in 2011 — in the 12th over. Mayank brought up his 100, his first in the IPL, off 45 balls, within the 15th over. He was dismissed for 106 off 50 balls in the 17th over. Rahul followed in the 18th over.

Steve Smith (50) and Sanju Samson (85) got the chase off to a cracking start, as the highest Powerplay score of the season was bettered twice in one day. The team 100 came up within the 9th over, but Smith departed soon after. When Samson fell within the 17th over, it seemed the game was lost for Rajasthan. But Rahul Tewatia (53) had other ideas, smashing Sheldon Cottrell for five sixes in the 18th over as RR clinched the match in a very dramatic last over with four wickets and three balls left.

China is injecting thousands of its people with Covid-19 vaccine shots, which are still under trial and hence their efficacy unproven, reports said. people who are getting these vaccine shots are made to sign a “nondisclosure agreement”, according to which they can’t talk about it to the news media.

High-risk population, including staff of state-owned companies, government officials, vaccine company staff, teachers are being inoculated on an emergency basis. Global heath experts are raising questions whether their consent has are being taken or not.

In its defence, China has said that the world Health Organization supported China’s experimental coronavirus vaccine programme, which started in July. China informed WHO in June, Zheng Zhongwei, a National Health Commission official, told Reuters.

WHO chief scientist Soumya Swaminathan has said countries can approve use of medical products within their own jurisdiction in the current emergency situation but only as a “temporary solution”.

China currently has 11 vaccines in clinical trials and four in Phrase 3 trials.Among these. two are developed by state-backed China National Biotec Group and one by Sinovac Biotech. Another experimental vaccine was developed by CanSino Biologics, which was approved to be used in the Chinese military in June.

IPL 2020 : Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad: Shubman Gill shines in KKR's seven-wicket win over SRH

Young Shubman Gill drove, pulled and cut magisterially in an unbeaten 62-ball 70 as Kolkata Knight Riders overwhelmed Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets in the Indian Premier League on Saturday.

Gill and Eoin Morgan (42 not out in 29 balls) complemented a disciplined bowling effort, helping the Knight Riders open their account with a convincing win.

The 21-year-old opener anchored the chase perfectly as Morgan counterattacked to seal the issue in KKR's favour with two overs to spare, after their opening game debacle.

Opting to bat, Sunrisers Hyderabad never got going after Pat Cummins (1/19) and rookie spinner Varun Chakravarthy (1/25) removed the opening pair of Jonny Bairstow and David Warner respectively, and were restricted to a below-par 142/4.

After an explosive start by KKR, the bowling-heavy SRH did make some inroads with Khaleel Ahmed and T Natarajan dismissing Sunil Narine (0) and Nitish Rana (26 off 13).

Rashid Khan got into the act straightway, trapping KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik for a duck.

But a relaxed and composed Gill was in complete control of his innings and paced it brilliantly on way to his fifth IPL fifty.

Reigning World Cup-winning skipper Morgan played the proper supporting role before joining the party by smacking Bhuvneshwar Kumar for a huge six in the 15th over to tilt the match in favour of KKR.

Earlier, KKR looked more intent and aggressive with their approach, having brought in Narine and Cummins up front with the new ball.

Having drawn flak for bowling short against Mumbai Indians, the IPL's most-expensive overseas buy Cummins smartly altered his length and bowled Jonny Bairstow with an absolute ripper to give KKR the first breakthrough.

In his second-coming, architect-turned-spinner Chakravarthy dismissed a well-set Warner (36 off 30) in a very soft manner for his maiden IPL wicket, giving KKR the massive breakthrough.

The Australian left-hander, who got out cheaply against Royal Challengers Bangalore, looked to create a mark with some clean hits, but a lapse in concentration did him in and he spooned an easy catch to Chakravarthy.

The two wickets meant that SRH couldn't step up the momentum and at the halfway mark, at 61 for 2 , the run-rate was just above six.

Manish Pandey returned to form at No. 3 with a 38-ball 51 and together with Wriddhiman Saha (30 off 31 balls), tried to repair the damage but the duo were dismissed at the death and SRH lacked the final touch to settle for a seemingly below-par total.

In hindsight, sending Saha before Mohammad Nabi seemed like a tactical blunder because the Indian wicketkeeper wasted plenty of deliveries in making 30 off 31.

PM Narendra Modi pledges to use India vaccine-production capacity to help 'all humanity'

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi pledged at the United Nations on Saturday that his country’s vaccine production capacity would be made available globally to fight the COVID-19 crisis.

“As the largest vaccine-producing country of the world, i want to give one more assurance to the global community today,” Modi said during a pre-recorded speech to the U.N. General Assembly. “India’s vaccine production and delivery capacity will be used to help all humanity in fighting this crisis.”

Modi said India was moving ahead with Phase 3 clinical trials - the large-scale trials considered the gold standard for determining safety and efficacy - and would help all countries enhance their cold chain and storage capacities for the delivery of vaccines.

Modi said in August that India was able to mass produce COVID-19 vaccines when scientists gave the go-ahead.

U.N. chief Antonio Guterres has been pushing for a “people’s vaccine” that's available and affordable everywhere and expressed concern on Tuesday that some countries were “reportedly making side deals exclusively for their own populations.”

“Such ‘vaccinationalism’ is not only unfair, it is self-defeating. None of us is safe until all of us are safe. Everybody knows that,” he told the general Assembly

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison told the general Assembly on Friday: “Whoever finds the vaccine must share it.”

“Some might see short- term advantage, or even profit,” Morrison said. “But I assure you to anyone who may think along those lines, humanity will have a very long memory and be a very, very severe judge.

“Australia’s pledge is clear: if we find the vaccine we will share it. That’s the pledge we all must make,” Morrison said.

Pope Francis told the United Nations on Friday that the poor and weakest members of society should get preferential treatment when a coronavirus vaccine is ready.

India, the world’s second most populous country after China, has recorded more than 5.8 million cases of COVID-19, second only behind the united states.

Its death toll as of in the week was more than 90,000 and it has consistently reported the highest tally of daily cases anywhere within the world as a dense population and sometimes rudimentary healthcare infrastructure hamper attempts to control the pandemic.

COVID-19 death toll could hit 2 million Globally before vaccine in wide use - WHO

The global death toll from COVID-19 could double to 2 million before a successful vaccine is widely used and could be even higher without concerted action to curb the pandemic, an official at the world Health Organization said on Friday.

“Unless we do it all, (2 million deaths) ... is not only imaginable, but sadly very likely,” Mike Ryan, head of the U.N. agency’s emergencies programme, told a briefing on Friday.

The number of deaths about nine months since the novel coronavirus was discovered in China is nearing 1 million

“We are not out of the woods anywhere, we are not out of the woods in Africa,” said Ryan.

He said young people shouldn't be blamed for a recent increase in infections despite growing concerns that they're driving its spread after restrictions and lockdowns were eased round the world.

“I really hope we don’t get into finger wagging: it’s all because of the youth,” said Ryan. “The last thing a young person needs is an old person pontificating and wagging the finger.”

Rather, indoor gatherings of people of all ages were driving the epidemic, he said.

The WHO is constant talks with China about its possible involvement within the COVAX financing scheme designed to ensure fast and equitable access globally to COVID-19 vaccines, every week after the deadline for committing passed.

“We’re in discussions with China about the role they may play as we go forward,” said Bruce Aylward, WHO senior adviser and head of the ACT-Accelerator programme to back vaccines, treatments and diagnostics against COVID-19.

He confirmed that Taiwan has signed up to the scheme, although it's not a WHO member, bringing the total to 159 participants. Some 34 are still deciding.

Talks with China also include discussion of the world’s second-largest economy potentially supplying vaccines to the scheme, he said.

The United Nations agency published on Friday draft criteria for the assessment of emergency use of COVID-19 vaccines to assist guide drugmakers as vaccine trials reach advanced stages, said WHO assistant director-general, Mariangela Simao.

The document are going to be available for public comment until Oct. 8, she said.

Earlier on Friday, a Chinese health official said the WHO had given its support for the country to begin administering experimental coronavirus vaccines to people even while clinical trials were still underway.

Delhi Capitals beat Chennai Super Kings by 44 runs to register their second consecutive win of IPL 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday. Chasing 176 to win, Chennai Super Kings got off to a poor start as they lost both their openers Shane Watson and Murali Vjay inside the powerplay. Watson got out to Axar Patel while Vijay was removed by Anrich Nortje. Ruturaj Gaikwad who came into bat at No. 4 did not impress as he got run out after scoring just five runs. After losing two quick wickets, Faf du Plessis and Kedar Jadhav stitched a good partnership to stay CSK hopes alive within the game. Anrich Nortje dismissed Jadhav to hand his side an important breakthrough. MS Dhoni came in to bat but the damage was already done. Nortje and Rabada bowled brilliantly towards the end to seal the massive for their side. Earlier, Prithvi Shaw (64 off 43) scored his 5th IPL half-century as Delhi Capitals posted 175/3 against CSK. Shaw got support from his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan (35 runs off 27) who played with more caution up front but more than made up for it once the field restriction were lifted. The duo added 36 runs within the first six overs without any loss and capitalised on the beginning after the powerplay, taking aggressive approach against the CSK spinners. Both the players found boundaries at will and looked they're going to take the game faraway from them. However that wasn't to be as Piyush Chawla paid off his captain's faith on him by removing both the openers in quick succession to stop the run flow.

Rohit Sharma was the talisman for Mumbai Indians (MI), leading them to a 49-run victory against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 match, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi . After winning the man of the match award, the MI captain said, "It was all about how we executed our plans today, we were in good positions and it was all about being ruthless". He went on to add that the wicket was good, and his team took advantage of it. Speaking about his batting display, he revealed that he had been practicing his pull shots lately.

Scoring 80 off 54 deliveries, Rohit also said that he wanted to spend a while within the middle overs, which he wasn't ready to neutralize the defeat to Chennai Super Kings (CSK). "Was looking to spend some time in the middle; it didn't come out well in the first innings but glad to have done it tonight," quipped Rohit.

Rohit revealed that MI had planned a pace attack for the Wankhede Stadium, but COVID-19 spoiled their plans. "We never knew that the IPL would happen in the UAE so we wanted a pace attack that was strong for the Wankhede", he said. He praised Trent Boult and James Pattinson for performing well, although they joined the team late.

Speaking about his dismissal, he revealed that he was exhausted. "It takes a lot out of you to play in these conditions. Maybe i was a bit tired in the end and it was a lesson for us that one set batsmen needs to bat deep till the end," he stated. Meanwhile, KKR captain Dinesh Karthik felt that his team must improve in all areas. "I think we had areas to do well in bat and ball. i think it was a pretty rusty day to be honest," he said.

Karthik also feels his side must get accustomed the conditions in United Arab Emirates (UAE). MI face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their next match on September 28. Meanwhile, KKR face SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) on September 26.

IPL 2020 : CSK vs RR : Rajasthan Royals beats Chennai by 16 runs

In the match 4 of 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL 2020), Sanju Samson's effortless six-hitting exhibition together with Jofra Archer's magnificent all-round show helped Rajasthan Royals to beat Chennai Super Kings by 16 runs at the Sharjah cricket stadium on Tuesday.

Rated as the weakest among eight teams, Stokes-Buttler-less Royals did most things right under skipper Steve Smith.

On a placid Sharjah track, Royals amassed 216 for 7 with the help of Samson's 74 off 32 balls that had nine maximums except for a solitary boundary.

He found an able ally in skipper Steve Smith, who opened in T20 cricket for the first time in his career and scored 69 off 47 balls without much fuss while making a comeback to competitive cricket after a concussion break.

But it had been Archer's four sixes off Lungi Ngidi in the final over that tilted the scales decisively with 30 runs coming off it.

Even going by the easy nature of the track, scoreboard pressure was always there and CSK still managed 200 for 6 with Archer (1/26 off 4 overs) swinging it in favour of Royals with a decisive 19th over.

Rahul Tewatia (3/37 in 4 overs) also need to be credited for his wickets at the top of the order.

It was always a catch-up game for CSK and one imagined that their skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni would at least try to come up the order but he came at No 7 when the match was as good as over.

The night belonged to Samson, a person rated for his talent but criticised for his lack of consistency. He always has one or two incredible IPL days each year. Tuesday was one such day when he was at his brilliant best.

Piyush Chawla after a dream start to his IPL career was hit for 3 sixes in one over by Samson, all clean hits that landed several rows behind. His skipper also joined the six hitting competition hitting four himself adding 121 for the second wicket in only 9.2 overs.

What stood out was the minimum effort he used in lofting the straight sixes as the bat looked like a mere extension of his hands.

Chawla (1/55) and Ravindra Jadeja (0/40 in 4 overs) were targeted keeping short boundaries in mind and 95 runs came off those 8 overs from slow bowlers.

Just when it looked that a century was there for taking, Samson was holed out at deep extra cover trying to hit Ngidi for a six.

Once Smith was out in the 18th over, a total of 200 that looked so imminent after first 10, started looking distant. Till Archer decided to use his bat like sword and scythed through a hapless Ngidi, who lost nerve and length simultaneously. Four sixes and 30 runs finally proved to be decisive.

CSK did try at one stage with Faf du Plessis (72 off 37 balls) launching into Jaydev Unadkat (0/44 in 4 overs)'s final over hitting him for 3 sixes and 7 altogether .

However Archer bowled a lethal short ball that grew big on Du Plessis to close in the match with Dhoni's (29 off 17 balls) three sixes in final over were in a lost cause.

U.S. nears grim milestone of 200,000 COVID-19 deaths

The death toll from the spread of the coronavirus within the united states was approaching over 200,000 on Monday, by the far the highest number of any nation.

The united states, on a weekly average, is now losing about 800 lives every day to the virus, according to a Reuters tally. That's down from a peak of 2,806 daily deaths recorded on April 15.

During the early months of the pandemic, 200,000 deaths was regarded by many as the maximum number of lives likely to be lost within the united states to the virus.

On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump said the worst was over, as the death toll reached 199,630 with 6.8 million confirmed cases.

“We are rounding the corner on the pandemic, with or without a vaccine... and we’ve done a phenomenal job - not just a good job - a phenomenal job. Other than public relations, but that’s because I have fake news.”

Trump has previously admitted to playing down the danger of the coronavirus early because he didn't want to “create a panic.”

With barely six weeks left before the election on Nov. 3, Trump is behind Democratic rival Joe Biden nationally in every major public opinion poll and is neck and neck in key swing states. Trump’s handling of the pandemic and subsequent economic downturn has battered his standing among many citizens .

Trump has frequently questioned the recommendation of scientific experts on everything from the timing of a vaccine to reopening schools and businesses to wearing a mask. He has refused to support a national mask mandate and held large political rallies where few wore masks.

U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Robert Redfield recently told Congress that a mask would offer more guaranteed protection than a vaccine, which might only be broadly available by “late second quarter, third quarter 2021.”

Trump refuted the timeline for the vaccine and said that it's going to be available in a matter of weeks and before the Nov. 3 election.

Biden, who often wears a mask and has said he would require masks nationwide, has warned against a rushed release of a vaccine, saying, “Let me be clear: I trust vaccines, I trust scientists, but I don’t trust Donald Trump.”

The University of Washington’s health institute is forecasting coronavirus fatalities reaching 378,000 by the end of 2020, with the daily death toll skyrocketing to 3,000 per day in December.

Over 70% of these within the united states who have lost their lives to the virus were over the age of 65, per CDC data.

The southern states of Texas and Florida contributed the most deaths within the united states in the past fortnight and were closely followed by California.

California, Texas and Florida - the three most populous U.S. states - have recorded the most coronavirus infections and have long surpassed the state of new York, which was the epicenter of the outbreak in early 2020. The country as a whole is reporting over 40,000 new infections on the average every day and saw cases last week rise on a weekly basis after falling for eight weeks in a row.

Deaths rose 5% last week after falling for four weeks in a row, as per a Reuters analysis.

Six out of each 10,000 residents within the united states has died of the virus, according to Reuters data, one of the highest rates among developed nations.

Brazil follows the united states in the number of overall deaths due to the virus, with over 136,000 fatalities. India has had the world’s highest daily death rate over the last week with total deaths now approaching 100,000.
