Apple has finally unveiled a bunch of latest products at its first ever launch event of the year. No, there have been no iPhones this point but what we saw was new iPads and Apple Watch devices.
The firm has introduced its new iPad Air and therefore the 8th-generation of its entry-level iPad with a brand new design and bumped-up specifications. These come in addition to Apple Watch Series 6 and Watch SE models.
On the services side of things we saw the launch of Apple One bundle subscription and Apple Fitness+.
New Apple iPad Air
Starting at $599, the new iPad Air boasts of a 7-megapixel FaceTime camera and a 12-megapixel camera, same as what's there in iPad Pro.
It is powered by company's A14 Bionic processor supported 5nm tech and also features a next-gen TouchID that's integrated on the power button at the top.
Sporting a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display, the tablet comes in new colour variants.
8th-generation Apple iPad
The 8th-generation of iPad starts at $329 and can be available within the US starting this week. Besides supporting Apple Pencil, the tablet comes powered by A12 Bionic chipset.
Coming in Silver, Space Gray and Gold, the tablet still has the touchID button below the screen and comes in 32GB or 128GB storage variants.
There's a 10.2-inch display, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.2-megapixel front camera and stereo speakers.
Apple also introduced the Apple One subscription service that bundles iCloud, Apple Music, TV+, Arcade, News+ and Fitness+ for individual and relations . additionally , the firm introduced the Fitness+ service that costs $9.99 and $79.99 for monthly and annual subscription. Fitness+ brings automatic timers for tough intervals, shows alerts in real time and real-time ring animations.
You also get new workout classes added each week along side catalog of videos on iPad, iPhone, or Apple TV.
Apple Watch SE and Watch Series 6
Watch SE starts at $279 while the Watch Series 6 starts at $399.
The Watch SE features S5 chipset and borrows some features from Watch Series 6 including Fall Detection. It's a large screen just like the Series 6 and features a waterproof body also . Besides sporting the basic health features it's compatible with different straps also . This also includes the ‘Solo’ loop, which has no hooks, no buckle and is simply a stretchable, plain looking band.
Furthermore, Apple Watch gets ‘Family Setup’ feature. This includes do not disturb mode, requires cellular models and lets parents keep a check on kids easily.
Apple Watch Series 6
