IPL2020: MI vs KKR : Mumbai Indians beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets

 IPL 2020: Opener Quinton de Kock's unbeaten half-century helped Mumbai to a resounding eight-wicket win over Kolkata. Kolkata were all out for 148 with the help of Pat Cummins' half-century. Chasing the challenge, De Cock remained unbeaten on 78. With this victory, Mumbai team topped the table with 12 points.

Chasing 149, Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma got off to a strong start. Rohit started batting after De Cock hit a half-century, but was dismissed for 35. Suryakumar Yadav was also dismissed for 10 runs. But De Cock kept hitting. He scored an unbeaten 78 off 44 balls with the help of 9 fours and 3 sixes. Hardik Pandya scored 21 off 11 balls.

Earlier, Kolkata's new skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to bat first but his decision failed. Opener Rahul Tripathi was dismissed for 7 runs. Nitish Rana was also dismissed for 5 runs. Shubman Gill, who was stationed on the pitch, was also caught by a wrong shot. He scored 21 off 23 balls. Dinesh Karthik was also dismissed for 4 off the next ball. Rahul Chahar took 2 wickets in 2 balls to make Kolkata worse. Andre Russell followed suit. But skipper Eoin Morgan and all-rounder Pat Cummins saved Kolkata's innings. The duo hit the ground running till the end and gave the team a lead of 148 runs. Pat Cummins hit an unbeaten 53 in the first half. Captain Morgan scored an unbeaten 39 runs.
