Latest News World/Cricket News: BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has confirmed that VVS Laxman will take over as the chief of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) after former cricketer Rahul Dravid takes over as the coach of the Indian team. ANI has given this information. Ganguly has always prominently said that former cricketers should come into the system for the betterment of Indian cricket. Not only Ganguly but also Board Secretary Jay Shah and other senior officials wanted Laxman to serve as the head of NCA.

It will be a very good combination that both of them work to take Indian cricket forward. Significantly, Dravid will start his work as the head coach of Team India from the series against New Zealand. Dravid has mentioned his roadmap after becoming the coach and how he wants to carry forward the legacy of former coach Ravi Shastri.
After becoming the NCA chief, now Laxman will have to shift from his hometown Hyderabad to Bangalore. Laxman is also currently the mentor of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. Apart from this, he has also served as the batting consultant of the Cricket Association of Bengal till the beginning of this year. Laxman will now have to relinquish all those positions to avoid issues of conflict of interest, which brings him double benefits.
